The last stop on the trip was Château de Chenonceau, which was built in the early 1500s and spans the river with archways to allow the water to pass underneath it. The castle actually dates back to at least the 11th century but was burnt down in the 1400s to punish the owner, so it had to be rebuilt bigger and better. BOOM.
