My best friend introduced me to Young’s Dairy back in July when I last visited my family and friends in Ohio. There’s a field of sunflowers nearby at the Tecumseh Land Trust that we expected to have bloomed by then and wanted to take pictures of. It turns out it was still an empty field then, but we loved the chicken and dumplings at the country restaurant, the towering sundaes at the dairy, and getting to feed and pet the goats, pigs, and cows on the farm. I was raised on a farm, and yet it feels so exciting to me to be there. It could be the ice cream. The sunflower field STILL wasn’t blooming when we came back last week, so I guess that gives us an excuse to go again next month when I’m home!
